Hi all, we will meet at 09:55 for the 10:07 overground to Haggerston (arriving in Haggerston at 10:39 for those that are meeting us there, let me know if that's you!).

This walk is great, can't believe I've never done it before. A gorgeous walk around East London canals, more or less circular from Haggerston.

It takes in Regents Canal, Victoria Park, the Limehouse Basin, the wonderful Oast houses at the three mills studios. All of this, over about 10 miles with hardly a car in sight. It ends at the heart of the 'pho mile' by Hoxton. I haven't booked anything as there are so many of us on this walk, and I've got to scoot off by 5:30, but it's a good opportunity for a Vietnamese food stop at the end for anyone who wants it (yum).

It's a photographer's dream, with all the street art, buildings, birds and old canal paraphernalia so let's allow plenty of time. We also walk past a couple of lovely old east end boozers, and a cute tea shop if we need extra refreshments. Bring sandwiches and wear trainers - something with a bit of spring to the sole if you can as it's on paved paths most of the way, I didn't and I've got sore feet now...

Other benefit is it's super easy to get to as long as the overground is running, trains go direct from CP, Anerley, Norwood Junction, Sydenham... More details about meeting and getting there nearer the time.

If anyone doesn't want to do the full 10 miles, there's an option to duck out about 2/3 of the way round at West Ham - decent train links back to the Palace.
